Like the two sides of the coin, the Internet has a set of pros and cons. In this article, I will give some examples of the Good and Bad Sides of the Internet.

Some Good Side of the Internet:

The Internet has become populated by academic, government, and industrial researchers. One can find many applications on the internet.

• Communication

We have lots of facilities available on the internet for communication. E-mail is one of the most important communication services available on the internet.

Internet telephony is another common communications service made possible by the creation of the internet. However, VoIP stands for Voice-over-Internet Protocol, referring to the protocol that underlies all Internet communication.

• Online Shopping

You sell and Purchase Items on the Internet. Online shopping is the process consumers go through to purchase products or services over the Internet. However, an online shop, e-shop, e-store, internet shop, Webstore, or online store evokes the physical analogy of buying products or services. To shop online, one must be able to have access to the internet inbuilt computer, a bank account, and a Debit card. Various other payment media like credit cards,  Electronic money transfers, etc can also be used for online shopping.

We have several sites which Provide online shopping. Amazon.Com is an Online shopping website especially for books, Video Electronic, Computers, Mobile Phones, etc.

• Online Banking

The Internet has changed the total scenario of Banking. CBS(Centralized banking solution), ATM saves your overheads and time. Now you can make payments and perform transactions while sitting in Office. One can do transactions and fund transfers with the help of online facilities provided by a bank on the internet.

You can check your account status, do payments, and transfer funds to other accounts through Internet Banking. In online banking, the bank provided a username and password for accessing the account and make transactions.

• Online Registrations or Examinations

Many Institutions and colleges provide Online Admissions/Registrations from before Covid-19. However, now you can take admission while sitting at your home with the help of an Internet-enabled computer. Most of the universities and educational organizations display their exam result on the Internet which can be viewed Worldwide. It is easy to search, process, check, and filter the data which is available online. Example: Online Exam, Results, Admissions, etc.

Some Bad Side of the Internet:

Firstly, we can’t deny the fact that the Internet today has made the world smaller and a connected world to live in, it also brought it with many drawbacks. Children are getting addicted to it and are sacrificing for studies. Similarly, Growing incidents of Cyber Crime and Social web activities bring to light the dark side of the Internet.

• Addiction

Most of today’s children are seen playing Online Games and have sacrificed physical activity and exercise in the process. The result growing number of obese children and increasing health problems. when the Internet Becomes an addiction and starts interfering with our daily life, then it leads to a kind of psychological problem know as Internet addiction Disorder.

• Personal Information

When you use the Internet, Your personal information such as your name, address, etc. may be accessed by other people. Similarly,  When you use a credit card to shop online, then your credit card information can also be stolen. It will happen when you will allow to access your information on your phone or websites.

• Hacking

It is the use of a computer system without a specific, Constructive purpose or proper authorization Computer hacking. Hacking is the practice of modifying computer hardware and software to accomplish a goal outside of the creator’s original purpose. Example: Dos Attack, Phishing Attack, Man in the middle attack, etc, and those who do this are called hackers.

I think personally, the Internet is a Great Invention, People need to be aware of what is bad and what is good for them.
