Queue to buy Tata’s cheapest electric car, do you know how much mileage you can get?



Tata Motors announced on September 28 the price of Tiago EV, India’s cheapest electric car. Reservations start from the 10th of last month. The car has already received 20,000 reservations. Deliveries of the Tata Tiago EV will start in his January of the new year. The waiting period for vehicles in Vartyan is 4 months. However, Tiago EV promises he will be available in select cities within two months.

Tata Tiago EV range and specifications

The Tata Tiago EV comes in four trim options: XE, XT, XZ+ and XZ+ Tech. Two battery packs are available: 19.2 kWh and 24 kWh. Dust and water resistant. The hatchback gets 74 bhp of power and 114 Nm of torque from a permanent magnet synchronous electric motor paired with a 24 KWh battery. Meanwhile, the 19.2 kWh battery model puts out 61 bhp of power and 110 Nm of torque.

The vehicle has two different battery pack options. One of them is a 24 KW battery that can travel 315 km on a single charge. The other is a smaller version with a 19.2 kW battery pack with a range of 250 km. This car also has four different charging options. These are a 15 amp socket for home charging, a 3.3 kW AC charger, a 7.2 kW AC home charger, and a DC fast charger.

The company offers an 8 year or 1,60,000 km (whichever comes first) warranty on the vehicle’s battery and engine. The smaller battery model can accelerate from 0-60 km/h in 6.2 seconds, while the larger premium version takes 5.7 seconds.

Features of the Tata Tiago EV

Tiago’s electric version will share the same design as the facelift version of Tiago’s current petrol car, which will go on sale in 2020. A 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Apple Car Play, Android Auto, and all sorts of connectivity his technology. Even the Tiago EV gets a multi-mode regenerative braking system first seen in the Nexon EV Max.

Apart from this, climate control, rain sensing wipers, automatic headlamps, start/stop button and cruise control are available. For passenger safety, it is equipped with an anti-lock braking system with EBD, rear parking sensors, rear parking camera and seat belt reminder.
