The news of Sony PS5 price hike comes a few days before the launch of God of War Ragnarok on November 9.

There are two versions of the PS5 gaming console – standard and digital. The difference between the digital version and the standard is that the latter supports physical Blu-ray discs. The digital version packs 16GB of GDDR6 RAM and supports 825GB of internal memory. It is powered by an octa-core CPU based on Zen 2 architecture.

The gaming console supports 8K gaming at up to 120fps. The PS5 also supports 4K TV gaming thanks to a 120Hz refresh rate. HDR TV technology is also supported. There is support for Sony’s next-generation Tempest 3D audio technology, which provides an immersive gaming experience. The device also features Dual Sense controllers to improve haptics responses.

Earlier this year, Sony increased the price of its PlayStation 5 gaming console in the global market. Countries such as the UK, Europe, Japan, China, Australia, Mexico, and Canada were among the list of PS5 price hikes at the time. Raising prices at the beginning of the year, Sony said the price hike was a result of high global inflation rates as well as rising interest rates.

The disc drive-equipped version of the PS5, on the other hand, has seen a 10 percent price hike in Europe, from 499.99 euros previously to 549.99 euros ($550.81). However, the rate of price rise in Britain was around 6 per cent. The company had then said that there would be no increase in prices in the US. But Sony is finally headed down that path, even though there’s no word on whether to raise the price of the PS5 for the Indian market.
