TV viewing fees become cheaper during the year-end and New Year holidays

India’s telecommunications regulator on Tuesday unveiled a new tariff order, or NTO 2.0, that will allow cable and DTH customers to get relief from next year. According to the new regulations, channels under Rs 19 can now be included in the bouquet. However, if the channel price is above Rs 19, it will be offered on an a la carte basis.

Customers can also get special discounts

In addition to this, the new regulations also state that discounts of up to 45% will be available on Channel Bouquet subscriptions for the next few days. Please note that currently broadcasters can only offer discounts of up to 33%. Things will change soon.

The new rules will come into force next February

It turns out that this new TRAI rule will come into effect from February 1, 2023. According to the agency, by February 1 next year, all TV channel distributors will have to confirm with the center that they are offering their services according to customer choice. He said that by December 16, 2020, the Center should be informed in detail about the changes he is making to his channel packages as a result of the new regulations.
