How To Activate 5G On iPhone: The wait for Indians to use 5G from the handset is over. 5G is rolling out to Android users from various smartphone brands in a phased manner. But iPhone users were not getting that benefit for so long. Now the tech giant has released iOS 16.2 beta. Through this, the newly launched iPhone 14 and earlier iPhone 13 and iPhone 12 users can use 5G technology. But if all these iPhone users in India have Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio network, they can now enjoy 5G services. Because, now both these telecom companies have rolled out 5G network in some major cities of the country.

Earlier this week, Apple rolled out the iOS 16 5G beta software program. This means Airtel and Jio customers can now access super fast next-generation 5G services from their iPhones. iPhone 14, iPhone 13, iPhone 12, and iPhone SE (3rd generation) users can access 5G from their models as Apple’s iOS 16 beta participants. Note that only beta testers can enjoy this feature. Apple will roll out this software update to all users in December this year.

Top popular Android smartphone manufacturers like Samsung, Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo have already announced 5G availability in their various models. Now iPhone (beta) users can also avail this facility from their handsets. Let’s take a look at the ways to activate 5G on iPhone.

How to activate 5G from iPhone

To know about the availability of 5G from your iPhone, you must first make sure that you are part of this beta program. If not part, you can register for the public beta program by visiting the company’s official website.

Once enrolled go to Settings option from your iPhone. From there click on General and then on the Software Update option.

Now click on the Download and Install Software Update option. (Remember: Back up files and all data before installing any beta version on iOS.)

After updating your handset to iOS 16.2 (the latest version of iOS) beta, check if 5G is available in your area.

Now to check whether 5G is available in your area or not, you need to go to Settings > Mobile data > Mobile data options > Voice & data > Options and select 5G networks one by one.
